How the Daily Challenge Works

The daily challenge rotates one game each day with a target score attached. Everyone gets the same game on the same date, and the challenge resets at midnight in your local time.

The point of a daily format is habit rather than difficulty. A fixed cue at a fixed time is the most reliable way to make a small behaviour stick, which is why streak counters work better than reminders to try harder. Missing a day breaks the streak, and that visible break is what makes the habit noticeable.

It also gives your scores meaning. Playing one game once tells you very little, because sleep, caffeine and time of day move most cognitive scores more than short term practice does. A run of daily scores averages that noise out and shows you a trend instead of a number.

Because it runs in the browser with no account, your streak is stored on your device. That keeps it private, but it also means clearing site data resets it.
