Free Four in a Row Online
Drop red discs into the grid. Be the first to line up four in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
How to Play Four in a Row
You play as Red and always go first. Click the arrow above any column to drop your disc into that column. Discs fall to the lowest available row. The computer then plays Yellow. The first player to get four of their discs in a straight line - horizontally, vertically or diagonally - wins. If the board fills up without a winner, the game is a draw.
Easy vs Hard Mode
Easy mode gives the AI a limited look-ahead, so it misses some threats and opportunities. Hard mode gives the AI deeper search, making it much more difficult to beat. It evaluates positions, blocks your threats and builds its own winning lines.
Tips
- The centre column is the most valuable. Discs there connect to the most lines in all directions. Open with the centre when possible.
- Think two moves ahead. If you create two threats at once, the AI can only block one of them.
- Avoid filling columns all the way to the top early - you may hand a winning disc position to your opponent.
- Watch for diagonal threats, which are easier to miss than horizontal or vertical ones.
